Information we collect

On-device data

Hueway stores your progress, your cleared levels, the board you are part way through and your preferences locally on your device. This data is created and used on the device. We do not receive it and cannot read it.

Gameplay statistics

Hueway sends anonymous gameplay statistics through Google Analytics for Firebase, only while the Usage data setting is On. The app records two events:

• At the end of each board - whether it was a campaign level or a free play board, the level number or difficulty, the board size, the colour model, the generator seed, how the board ended (solved, retried, replaced or abandoned), how long it lasted, how many taps it took against the fewest possible, and how close to solved it was left.
• When you dismiss the solved dialog - which of the three buttons you pressed.

Every value is a number or one of a fixed set of words. None of it identifies you, and none of it can be traced back to you by us.

You can turn this off. Settings → Usage data → Off stops collection entirely, including the automatic data described below - not merely our own two events. The setting is in the app and takes effect immediately.

Data Google Analytics collects by itself

When Usage data is On, Google Analytics for Firebase also collects, without being asked by us:

• an app instance identifier, a pseudonymous per-installation identifier,
• an advertising identifier (the Android Advertising ID),
• standard automatic events such as first open, session start, app update and app removal,
• device and context information: model, operating-system version, app version, language, and approximate location derived from your IP address, at country or region level.

About the advertising identifier. Google Analytics for Firebase collects it as part of its standard operation. Hueway does not currently display advertisements. We intend to introduce them in a future version, and this policy and the app's Google Play data disclosures will be updated before any advertisement is shown.

Play Games and saved games

If you sign in to Google Play Games, Hueway can save your progress so it follows you between devices. Signing in is Google's own flow: Google shows the account picker and tells you which account you are signed in as.

Saved games are written to the hidden application-data folder of your own Google Drive. We do not host them, and we cannot read them outside the app. A saved game holds your cleared levels, your four settings and the board you are part way through. It contains no personal information. The saved-games picker shows a device name, such as "Galaxy A55", which the Play Games software supplies.

Using Play Games is optional. The game is fully playable without signing in.

What we do not collect

No name, email address or account details. No precise location. No contacts, photos, files, microphone or camera. No crash or diagnostic reports. No identifier of our own. No purchases. No messages, and nothing you have typed - because there is nowhere in Hueway to type.

How we use information

We use the gameplay statistics to understand which levels are too hard, where players stop, and whether the difficulty curve works. That is the whole purpose. We do not use them to profile you, to advertise to you, or to make decisions about you.

On-device data and saved games are used only to provide the game itself.

Sharing with third parties

We share data with Google LLC, which processes it as described in Google's Privacy Policy:

• Google Analytics for Firebase processes the gameplay statistics and the automatic data described above.
• Google Play Games Services handles sign-in and stores saved games in your own Google Drive.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else.

Legal bases for processing (EEA, UK, Switzerland)

Where the GDPR or an equivalent law applies, we rely on:

• Performance of a contract - to provide the game you asked for, including saved games if you choose to sign in.
• Legitimate interests - to understand how the game is played so we can improve it, balanced against the fact that the statistics are anonymous and can be switched off at any time in the app.

Your rights

EEA, UK, and Switzerland

If you are in the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data erased, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, to withdraw any consent you have given, and to complain to your national data protection authority.

California

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, used, shared or sold; to access and obtain a copy of it; to have it corrected or deleted; to opt out of its sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising; to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

How to delete your data

Hueway has no account, so there is no profile for us to look up and delete. In practice:

• Gameplay statistics - turn Usage data Off to stop collection. Data already collected ages out within the retention period below. Uninstalling the app also stops all collection.
• On-device data - clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
• Saved games - these are in your own Google Drive. Delete them through your Google account's management of application data, or by deleting Hueway's data from Play Games.

Data retention

Event-level and user-level analytics data is retained for two months, after which Google deletes it. Aggregate reports that contain no event-level data may be kept for longer. On-device data stays on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app. Saved games stay in your Google Drive until you delete them.

International transfers

Data processed by Google may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. Google relies on safeguards approved under applicable data-protection law, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, for these transfers.

Security

Data sent from the app is encrypted in transit. Data held by Google is protected by Google's own security controls. On-device data is protected by your device's own application sandbox.

Children

Hueway is a general-audience game intended for players aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent change. Where a change materially affects what is collected - for example, when advertising is introduced - we will update this policy and the app's Google Play data disclosures before the change takes effect.
